Breastfeeding can come with questions, challenges, and moments when you just need someone who understands. This page connects you to local support options across Tarrant County, from no-cost group meetups to one-on-one care with lactation professionals.

International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) provide clinical, hands-on support to families. Peer counselors and other lactation professionals offer education, encouragement, and emotional support, and will refer to an IBCLC when needed.

Free, drop-in, informal breastfeeding support groups offering ongoing professional lactation care and intervention. Supported and led by an IBCLC.

Leaders are trained parent volunteers who offer free information and support to help you. For the convenience of parents everywhere, we provide individualized support as well as group meet-ups, in-person and in all styles of virtual formats. Meetings are free and offer a place to find a community of parents who share an interest in breastfeeding, pumping, and human milk feeding experiences, information, questions, and concerns.

Free drop-in breastfeeding support group hosted by certified lactation consultants, offered in Fort Worth, Dallas and virtually.

At Texas Health Resources, they offer Support Groups, Family Education, and  Prenatal Education classes and events.

At Baylor Scott & White, they offer childbirth classes and prenatal classes  to reflect current practices and are offered in a variety of formats to meet your needs and schedules.

They also offer comprehensive breastfeeding education and support. Rockin' Mommas Support Group is free and in-person at BS&W All Saints - Fort Worth and BS&W Grapevine.

No-Cost Individual Lactation Support

These options provide one-on-one help at no cost, regardless of where you gave birth.

Breastfeeding moms can receive consultation, one-on-one education and assistance to support efforts at successful breastfeeding. Lactation consultants are available at JPS health centers to answer questions on topics such as latching on, milk supply, using breast pumps, or other breastfeeding concerns.

Call to schedule an appointment at your nearest Outpatient Lactation Clinic.

IBCLCs and peer counselors are available to WIC recipients. Peer counselors are mothers who can share their own experiences and provide help and advice based on current research and knowledge from experts.

Insurance & Self-Pay Lactation Support

Private lactation consultants offer care that may be covered by insurance or available out of pocket.
